It was just stated on Fox by a Government official of some capacity, I wish I got his name, the levee that broke, was only engineered, secure enough for a Category 3. They knew this.

On Sunday people were predicting that if a category 4 or 5 hits direct New Orleans might be wiped out.

The local/State blew it. More people should have been evacuated. There should have been some type of emergency plan.

You are Monday morning quarterbacking and not looking at the situation as it was over the weekend.

Yes, looking at it on Friday, we should have evacuated the city... but no one expected NO to be utterly destroyed...no matter how it is playing out now.

The Mayor did call for evacuations. The mistake was that they didn't make the people go. Those who stayed were sent to the Superdome to ride out the hurricane, not be stuck there when the levees failed. There is a difference...
