"Tetanus, typhoid ... will be just as effective in culling the looters."

I sincerely hope you're right. Because I doubt many, if any, of these sub-human vermin will be shot -- at least by the authorities. Our society is simply too steeped in political correctness and "compassion." One can hope that armed citizens will take matters into their own hands when need be, but I suspect they too are intimidated in these corrupt times.

Yup, the sacramento river runs thru it. :)

earthquakes and torrential gully washers could take levees out, just a matter of time, unfortunately.

I think you might be too kind here.

New Orleans was a disaster in waiting.

Very long time coming -- and the Corps of Engineers had been doing a band-aide job at best, for years.

Do ya think those in need will really being focusing on an insignia? Our history wasn't perfect but it is what it is.

>>>I have to assume they were orderd in by Homeland Security and she was forced to sign orders under threat of being removed.

I don't the Homeland Security has that much power.

Probably went more like The Ark. Gov was asked by LA's gov, or Homeland Security for the AK guard deployment, and it was granted. Then LA's gov gave them police powers under her emergency powers.

At any rate, this should have been done several days ago. LA's Gov, and NOLA's mayor are miserable failures.

The Feds removing the Governor from office?

It goes something like this:

Bush: You get that situation under control in 24 hours.
Gov: I don't want to have to fire on my citizens. Its not right, I feel so bad for them...
Bush: You do what I say, or I will declare Martial Law and send in Federal troops, and I WILL establish order, and you will spend the next several months in Levenworth while we investigate what you did with the money we gave you for pumps which sat in your warehouse for 4 years.
Gov: Yes Sir. Anything you say sir.

She should be the one saying she is sorry. She has blown it big time and should be impeached.

While we're at it, why don't we just abolish all state government and establish the Federal Republic of America.

The United States has a constitutional requirement to protect the states from Domestic Violence as well as invasion.

Very unusual to see a freeper speak out against Original Intent.

Of course the people the Arkansas National Guard are benefiting will not care or even think about, any insignia. But the race baiters, the MSM, and the P.C. police have raised plenty of such absurb issues in the past, and will do again.

Kathleen Blanco demanded that Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert, R-Ill., apologize for his statement that it might not make sense to rebuild New Orleans.

It sure doesn't make sense for the US to pay for rebuilding a LA city

We don't need to help rebuild a city that's below sea level.

Since the RATS firmly believe that Sea Levels can only rise due to global warming I would think that they would understand this concept. They better get to saving New York.

I don't think she's right -- there is a bit of a mass hyponosis going on to get people thinking NO will be rebuilt better than ever. We all knew it'd be destroyed eventually so its insanity to expect a different outcome next time.<<<<<<<<<<

There are many who say reflexively that it will be rebuilt better than ever, O'Reilly for one, but the more I think about it the more I am convinced that if anything is restored it will be a much, much smaller version, I simply cannot imagine that the whole city will ever exist as it did in the past. And it is now in the past although many have still not come to grips with that.

Sorry that your kitty disappeared, truly, but equally I've never seen a duck that would voluntarily set down in a toxic open sewer, which, sadly, N.O. has now become.

While your description of Blank-Out (courtesy: Ayn Rand) is entirely accurate, you did happen to omit the other appropriate modified adjective describing the alleged human now occupying the LA governor's office:

''staggeringly incompetent''.

You're quite right.

Regarding the Regress, though -- never happen.

Galveston did raise the city, and also built a sea wall for protection after the terrible storm that killed many thousands 105 years ago next week.

And I believe they paid for it themselves.

"...Leave it full of water and let the duckies have it."

Yeah with all that cover it will make for some great fishing in the future.
