Fox reported that Lousiana Senator Vitter (R) said he thought the death toll in Louisiana would start at 10,000. I wouldn't be surprised. Remember, the Lower Ninth Ward and St. Bernard Parish flooded during the storm, and the water came up fairly quickly in New Orleans once the 17th Street Levy broke.
BTW - Shep keeps on calling Vitter a State Senator, which he's not.
