People lve on the coast and have no flood ins...I live in Il and have it...

May I ask how you have flood insurance? Is it incorporated through FEMA?

I just took a look at my policy...no flood ins....yikes....I do have earthquake coverage though...

From what I understand, if you live on what has been designated a flood plain, you can purchase federal flood insurance. It doesn't have to be in a coastal area. Homeowners' insurance will not cover flooding (think they will cover rain damage from above, but not once it hits the ground).
