After we had our big earthquake in WA in 2001, I did research to find out where in the country was safe from earthquakes (I wanted to move). One place was FLORIDA, and I can't remember where the other one was, but it was about as appealing. No way am I leaving an earthquake risk for a hurricane risk. Unfortunately, there is pretty much no place safe from natural disasters. I am also stuck now because I am divorced and can't take my kids out of the state and away from their dad.

Northern Wisconsin/Michigan/Minnesota is essentially earthquake-free, though I don't know if you want to put up with the cold and the snow. Even southern Wisconsin (where I am) is pretty much earthquake-free, even though we'd feel some of the effects of a New Madrid fault quake.

Actually, Arizona is a fairly safe state.

We deal with thunderstorms, but there are few other natural disasters threatening us. One reason is that we aren't all that densely populated outside of Phoenix and Tucson.
