OReilly on the phone now with someone from a hotel. the hotel privately rented 10 buses to evacuate a bunch of tourists in the hotels in the Quarter. they were commandeered and sent to the superdome, so all these people are stuck - with very little security.
Did you hear how much each one of those people paid to get those buses there? Not to mention the fact that they are staying in what was a nice hotel. Now, with that in mind, do you think there is any reason you wouldn't have found a way out of New Orleans with a Cat 5 hurricane coming your way assuming you had the means to stay in a nice New Orleans hotel before the storm hit, and pay thousands to try to charter a bus out after it hit? The night before the hurricane hit, people were being interviewed on Bourbon St saying they were sticking around for the experience. Well....they're getting it....with very little security.
I read that the buses were commandeered by FEMA authorities. I assume that would be due to an obligation to follow orders to manage the evacuation.
