Look, I don't mean to be tacky here BUT......the rescue plan is for first to save those in danger of dying and to fix the levee if possible. Those people at the SB are alive, have food and water. They may not be comfortable, they may not be happy but they are not dying.

We are falling right into the trap of the media. Lament the status of the poor people waiting for someone to get them out. Blame the people helping for not doing a better job.

Of course, they have had tragedy but they seem to have enough strength to run into the stores and loot so they are not in too bad a shape.

The priority is for rescuing those in the attics in danger of drowning, those injured and ill and getting them to a safer place.

If those in the SB and elsewhere are sincere about wanting help and to get out - they would not be shooting at the rescue people and preventing help from coming.

These people can do something for themselves - such as devise shade, clean up their area as best as possible, collect the trash and move it aside and move any dead bodies as far away as possible. They could also collect the delivered food/water and distribute it, advise others where to go for the help they need and organize teams to clean, to care for the children while others sleep, etc.

But - no, the media reports on them and furthers their whining about how they are getting no help. They sit and wait and complain because the worker bees are not moving heaven and earth fast enough to get them the appropriate luxuries.

We might remember that many have lived in concentration camps and managed to survive with far less.

Now - I expect those people to set about helping each other, identifying those that need care, provide work teams until they can be moved. They are humans afterall - not cattle.
