You know, there are even Amtrak lines, rated for human passengers. Duh! Slapping my head at the obvious, and wondering if other people if we bring this to their attention would do the same thing.
Of course, it would have taken cooperation between the line and train owners (Union Pacific and Amtrak), yet feasible...has it been so long since we've used trains that nobody thought about this? What an obvious do-able stupid oversight--

In other words, it's the equivalent of Saturday night in Houston and will be handled accordingly.
We don't put up with that here.

Yep, NO has quite a fleet of school busses. Shame no one put them to good use in the madness to evacuate too late.

Not only is Houston trying to deal with the evacuees in the Astrodome, they have a parking lot full of locals that have come to get whatever they can. Fox reported people sleeping out there last night and trying to get in the dome.

A few days without crack ain't helping either for some.

To Biloxi now? That's the next scheduled stop, IIRC.

It would take a lot more. It would have to be a full size OKC-style truck bomb or larger.
Any personally portable bomb wouldn't even affect a levee at all.

As stated previously, the Constitution is not a suicide pact. Better to act than to let thousands of people die needlessly due to ineffective state and local leadership. This is summarized neatly by Emerson's famous aphorism: "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines."

Actually, we can take most of them here in Texas. Not that we couldn't use some help from other states, but if we have to, we can use it.

I was wondering how big of a bomb it would take. Scary thought.

Just my opinion here, I don't believe that you stand by and watch fellow Americans die for fear there may be a stampede if indeed supplies were dropped. There was a reason that the lifeboats didn't go back toward the Titanic. Same rule applies here.

I think you'll see even more action as Bush travels west. Blanco and Landrieu are probably in hiding. God, I hope Bush doesn't stand on camera with those two. I might throw up.

lol...WWL begging Mayor Nagin to call in. He's AWOL...
To: oceanview
It did take a little while to determine that Governor Blanco was indeed an empty skirt, and Mayor Nogin an empty suit. What was not evident on Monday is crystal clear today. As for Sharpton, the..uh..Reverend..uh..Jackson, and the MSM, they should be ignored entirely. No Republican will ever please them, unless he is the most supine of RINOs. Besides, the MSM is not the threat it once was, thanks to Fox News, the Internet, and conservative talk radio.

Notice who wasn't with Barbour and Riley with Bush. Gov. Blanco. He's going to LA next, so she'll probably meet him there.
She is in the doghouse bigtime.
You gigolo, you.... And apparently desperate for money.
