The baby that was just found had been left at a
NO hospital, the hurricane hit, and the parents who had left the baby behind were then unable to find the baby.

It had been evacuated to Houston, they had just gotten the call before they were interviewed.

I posted earlier about that little girl looking for anyone to help push her car and possibly her grandfather - in the midst of a flooded street. Cutest little girl. Some gut wrenching tales. I know it is easy to get pulled at the heart strings. Even the pic of the horses that were saved in Mississippi, but no hay to feed them has got to affect people.

By the way did you see the [NBC] piece, I think, of that amatuer video made by the hurricane chaser who stayed in a hotel on the coast? A young man, his 7th storm, I think. Said he did it to show others the power and danger of the storms. The water was relentness. Cars floating, water rushing up stair wells, roaring.

When I see people walking over the rubble crying over their lost items in MS I think they should THANK GOD they aren't in NO right now.

They probably have no clue what's happening in NO----and they are crying about it all in general---they are in shock too, please be more compassionate

That's right, it's time to unite, but with the liberals finding this situation "delicious" that will not happen. They hate Bush so much they are enjoying this!

Hey Nauti ... very bad choice using an .asx file as the main link as each time I go to the main post it tries to play (and shuts down my other players). I realize that there are probably config options I can set to override that, but others might have the same problem. As far as I'm concerned that's worse than 2MB graphics!!!

NO, I saw with my own eyes three, black female, uniformed NOLA police officers stealing shoes while pushing a shopping cart amongst other stealing toys and other goods.

This video tape is being looped on CNBC.

You are right. I read an account from an English News Source about two Brits who were apparently shepherded into the Superdome. While in there,in the Super Dome, they experienced the bullying of those who felt powerful enough to control basic water supplies.

One of my good friends has a father-in-law in New Orleans. He's old, about 90, but pretty spry. The house is high and dry, built along the river levee, but there's no way for him to get to help downtown or anywhere else. No water, no sewer, no electricity, but amazingly, still land phone service.

Anyway, my buddy is a licensed pilot. He is going to do an Indiana Jones stunt to get his FIL out. He's rented a plane and he's going to land on the levee (it has a cement top), hope he's not attacked by the criminal element, run down the levee and grab the old man and hightail it out of there.

It may have already happened, I don't know. He wasn't at the office today.

I am not lecturing----I am saying that there are people in MS that are in just as much trouble. what about the small little towns where people are stuck in there and can't get out with their babies and have lost everything. The news media is not there (can't get there I"m sure)but the world doesn't know about them. They can't get out because they can't get gas, have no electricity, water, food etc.

At least Nagin is blaming the Governor and not W. The New Orleans residents are blaming Nagin.

I think he knows that these poor people that have been through a living hell will understand that people in Texas will do everything they can for them, but they will expect them to comply with standards that will allow them to move forward. I feel almost as upbeat as Delay. When you fight for your very life and your family's life in a disaster like this it changes you, and Texas is a totally different atmosphere than NOLA.
