It's the Hate Shep All the Time chorus.
Forget the news, let's mock the messenger.
I'm willing to bet that fewer than 1% of freepers have seen the devastation that Shep has lived in the last few days. That will take a toll on anyone, especially someone covering news clost to home as he is.
Sometimes freepers are a bunch of twits. Or is it that a bunch of twits post on FR?

The latter, I think. If you can get past the noise here, there is a signal worth listening to. These days, the signal to noise ratio is pretty low, though.
Free Republic is probably the best news aggregation site on the planet, though.
You're probably right.
True enough.
It is called selective reality.
The people on the ground there see the devastation, rotting corpses, hungry children, etc and are not put off by the sight of a corpse. For them, that is reality.
To the air conditioned, well-fed crowd, a corpse on TV may be too much for them to bear.
I wonder if this generation would have tolerated the deprivations of the Great Depression or World War II as well as ancestors did?
The reality of the New Orleans is that once the relief effort finally gets organized and on site; it will be too late for the thousands trapped there.
So you noticed that too. Nice to know we're not alone. I wouldn't mind twits so much if it wasn't for the fact that their posts on FReeper are read by those who look for ammunition to paint all Conservatives as a group of "twits". Wish we could put the "ammo" in a locked safe somewhere where it couldn't be taken and used against us.
