I have always been a Condi fan. But face it, the leadership has not exactly been engaged and proactive in the face of this disaster. When it became obvious that the hurricane would hit NO, exigency plans should have been in place to cover a wide range of possible outcomes. Fears that the levies (sp?) might not hold up were out there long before they actually gave way. When something like this breaks, the leadership should be working around the clock. I also think Bush would have done well to return from the Ranch when the extent of the disaster first became apparent. Sorry if you feel that it's a rant, but I believe those in high places have better things to do at a time like this than attend a frivolous comedy performance.

All this being said, the hurricane was hugely more destructive than expected and nobody has a magic want...
