Yes, I have been a reporter myself covering disasters, and you have no idea the toll it takes on you. (My brother who is also a reporter, covered the war in Iraq in 2003, and it really affected him)Shep has done a remarkable job, given that he is from the south and the emotions he must be going through. I think he is respectful towards the people he talks to and has not been one bit condescending the way many regular on-site TV reporters are. He seems to be very integrated into the scene, rather than being above it or too removed from it.
