I kind of disagree with you. The shot was from a bit of a remove, and it wasn't gory or identifiable. The reality is, there are dead bodies in the road down in N.O.

America should know what is happening down there, so that those most responsible will be held accountable and that the citizentry will remember NEXT time and get the Hell out when a hit is predicted.
I disagree. I think those of us not in that area NEED to see some bodies. Perhaps we'd take it seriously. Most folks are whining about the price of gas and annoyed that their favorite junk is being overridden by news about New Orleans.
The seriousness of this disaster and what is happening is not getting through to folks around the country.
I think seeing swollen bodies on the streets of New Orleans may be just the thing that SHOULD be on television right now.
It's real. A lot of what's on the cable news channels right now is old footage taken days ago.

I didn't see the report, but I have seen others here complain that the media had been whitewashing the situation there.

Rick Levinthal is a much better reporter and he might actually be helpfull.
He seems to be assigning blame to the wrong places...it belongs in the LA Gov & NOLA Mayors' offices.

I hasten to add, however, that I am no fan of Shep.
Its about time someone started showing the truth of the situation. If you had been watching the footage shot over the last few days you would have spotted several bodies that the reporters just ignored. I watches choppers lifting people off roofs with obviously dead people laying on adjacent roofs and not a single word about it.
The truth has to be told, and as long as they are long range shots and no faces shown it NEEDS to be seen.
Get off Shep's back and stop whining. You want to whine, try complaining about the political corrrectness brigade that doesn't want to mention bodies at all and won't even mention looters.
Perhaps the government will do something now. I don't care that some say it is against the law for the military to get involved because that is a BS excuse. The government ignores immigration laws every day, why can't they do the same thing in this case?
