Well, why haven't we seen the Mayor on TV? Where is he?
I think the heat is getting to him. Fox should pull Smith out of there for his own good. He's making an ass of himself and his employer.
Hmmmm...
Fox News Channel anchor Shepard Smith was arrested by Florida police in November 2000 and charged with aggravated battery with a motor vehicle after arguing with another reporter over a parking space (both were covering the Bush-Gore Florida vote debacle).
If it bleeds, it leads and a dead body will even bump a bleeding body.
Shep is reporting the news. We NEED to know. God bless Shep.
I'm thoroughly confused what the heck is going on over at the Superdome and Convention Center. What is the hold up on getting buses,food/water, and armed guards there.
I'm hearing on the news that people are dying over there with no help... people are dying... getting sick, etc... There is no sign of relief there at all. Confusing.
Be careful. Gas will return before long to your pumps. Your shortage is temporary. Folks in New Orleans have a somewhat bigger problem right now.
Don't drive too much. Your gas will last longer.
I believe his horror was real and honest. Let us all remember that Shep is from Holly Springs, Mississippi. He also went to college at Ole Miss. So, he is a local, in his own area, in and around where he grew up. I'm sure that this is more than a reporting gig to him. It is where he is from. That would effect all of us to some degree.
When the water is nearly pumped out, and hundreds of corpses are laying there, do you want them to hide that as well? This is a disaster, and there are probably thousands dead. A good dose of reality won't hurt, especially those who think they can just "ride out the storm at home". If it offends you, just get over it! Change channels!
Sheperd Smith has done more to save lives than any other reporter down there, actually reporting the location of the hundreds who were being ignored on the bridge, helping to save an infant, etc. Give him a bit of credit here. I think he deserves an award for his coverage, actually.
Why? If it was a terrorist attack then perhaps. But a natural disaster, no, they don't need to show dead bodies on TV.
He's a little too cutesy for me. I'm not his biggest fan, but I'll watch him sometimes. But what do you expect from most of these talking heads...all that's missing is the blonde hair.
>>>Well, why haven't we seen the Mayor on TV? Where is he?
Hiding under his desk from Bill O'Reilly? Damned if I know where NOLA's mayor is...
I couldn't believe that....probably that officer was frustrated as heck...but, he didn't even acknowledge Shep...not one question was answered....he was a jerk....so I can only imagine how much more of jerks they probably are being off camera.....(one usually puts their best foot forward when company's over/camera's are rolling).
they say they are still finding bodies floating and jammed in under debris,,,, want all flowers?
That doesn't bother me. It's reality.
What does me bothers me is Shep harassing officers and basically losing his cool. He needs to calm down.
In Baton Rouge since Mon eve.
It's the Hate Shep All the Time chorus.
Forget the news, let's mock the messenger.
I'm willing to bet that fewer than 1% of freepers have seen the devastation that Shep has lived in the last few days. That will take a toll on anyone, especially someone covering news clost to home as he is.
Sometimes freepers are a bunch of twits. Or is it that a bunch of twits post on FR?
Just on CNN the reporter interviewing a guy who transferred from Superdome to Astrodome, the first words out of his mouth were "much love to Pres Bush,...." I cracked up; don't think the interviewer was expecting that.
