Could it be they did not take the warnings seriously? Or they did not take the care of their critical patients seriously? Maybe it is just me but I don't understand why such people entrusted with the lives of their patients got into such a jam in the first place. Must be some explanation I have't heard yet.
I saw the CEO, an MD, of one of the large hospitals. They were cut off from the world for 4 days. They could not understand why no one came to their aid. However, they evacuated everyone to the top floors and used flashlights to light the stairs so they could take food to the patients. He assisted another doctor in surgery. They had to move the operating table the patient was on into the critical care unit where they had a generator for light and also the light from outside. They completed the operation. Their security guards waded through deep water to make it to the doctors' offices to get water and medicines, etc. The water in the bottom floor of the hospital had snakes in it, too.
They are heroes.
