So do you believe in creation or evolution?
I believe in creation AND I believe some form of evolution is likely the mechanics of How God did what He did.
I suspect the theory of evolution (like all science) needs to be tweaked.
As an aside, I believe the Word of God is the inviolate truth.
That said, I suspect that the common interpretation of Genesis reads things into the Bible that simply are not necessarily in the black letters the Word.
The problem stems because so many (not all!) evolutionists are religion-haters AND because so many Creationists are luddites.
Also, many, many of the objections of creationists about evolutuion are: (1) based on a mis-understanding of the theory; (2) based on mis-information about facts; or (3) agenda-driver scriptural interpretation.
The hostility aside, I am seeing an amazing harmonization of the two, really. For example, by scripture we know that there was an Adam and an Eve.
Well, modern evolutionary theory (via DNA analysis) shows that all living men have several common male ancestors (sounds like Adam and Noah to me) and at least one common female ancestor (sounds like Eve). (This is called the "y-chromosome Adam").
The fact that the two camps cannot see that there is truth in the other is very sad.
