Whether a troll or stupid, the bottom line is that too many don't have a clue as to what the issue is here concerning oil. We have a refinery problem...and the people who have done the most to make sure that problem continues are the ones crying out the loudest about oil prices!

Excellent poiht! As I said earlier, if these people can only point fingers of blame at this point, it not only makes them look stupid BUT it shows they should shut up and get out of the way of those who really DO help those in need.

You're right about it not LOWERING gas prices, but it would make them about the same. In some states, the gas tax is 40 cents on the dollar. It wouldn't help the supply, though, you're right about that. That being said, it makes more sense than what the Dems are suggesting...which isn't much.

If you're suggesting that it would prevent prices from rising further, I still don't see it. The only thing that's been driving these increases is scarcity. That means that they're already charging over and above production costs, taxes, and normal profits. Reduce any other factor, be it taxes or overhead or anything else, and the price will still stay at whatever level is mandated by the scarcity of the product.

If the people get the officials they deserve, then Louisiana is not worth saving.
The governor can do nothing except cry, and the mayor is full of BS&W. The only able person is the Sheriff, and he has too little authority.

And New Orleans is totally run by what political party? Oh yeah the Democrats. THe great mayor that they elected Ray Nagin totally goofed on this one. He tells everyone to come to the Superdome and then he and the wonderful Governor of LA can't come up with a plan on how to even feed and water these people. Great.

Nagin makes Philadelphia's John Street look like Copernicus. I could only imagine the hell Philadelphia would be if North Philly was 20 feet under water...
