Warning As Mobs Get Bolder

NEW ORLEANS Mayor Ray Nagin ordered 1,500 police officers to leave their search-and-rescue mission last night and return to the streets to stop looting that has turned increasingly hostile as the city plunges deeper into chaos.
"They are starting to get closer to heavily populated areas hotels, hospitals and we're going to stop it right now," Nagin said.
The number of officers called off the search-and-rescue mission amounts to virtually the entire police force in New Orleans.
The out-of-control thievery had escalated while cops joined National Guardsmen in focusing on saving lives.
In some cases, New Orleans police officers took part in the looting. One cop was seen carting off a computer and a 27-inch flat-screen TV, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.
Earlier yesterday, Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blan- co said she has asked the White House to send more people to help with evacuations and rescues, thereby freeing up National Guardsmen to stop looters.
The looting got worse as people brazenly ran- sacked stores for food, beer, clothing, appliances and guns.
There have been some citizen-vs.-criminal standoffs, with one shopkeeper posting an ominous sign: "You loot, I shoot."

Hancuff them to a pole or street sign. Put them on the top of a parking building, surrounded by water, or put them in a lot surrounded with fencing, I'm sure, a resourceful LEO could think of something. Somewhere which only requires minimal supervision, and where they could not easily escape.
When was the last time, you read about unarmed looters being shot on sight?
I agree completely, that the NO police dept is totally lacking in this circumstance. But, I believe there are alternatives to killing people. I do not believe that my attitude has resulted in more deaths, and the only suffering would be a looter, secured to a street sign in 6ft of water.

I would rather lose my tv, then have to clean up the mess and waste my time in court.

I doubt it would be a death sentence, to sit in water for a couple days...people are doing it now. Shooting them, would be though.

No problem.
Pine Barrens kids can shoot, up in central NJ we say that the 11th finger gives them an advantage. Just kidding.
Don't know about Denville but not too far to the nw and you'd see alot of shooters especially during deer season.

That would certainly make less of a mess than my .44 and I wouldn't have to patch the wall behind him.

Get a S&M 44 mag, load with soft nose ammo.. Aim for the belly. This will put a baseball size hole through the SOB.
A sawed off shotgun would be nice.. To hell with the gun laws the lives of your family is more important
Also, have a 9mm autopistol to do a head shot after they are down... Never leave a wounded enemy behind you... Learned that the hard way in 'Nam...

New Orleans was placed under martial law after widespread flooding rendered civil authority ineffective. The state of Louisiana does not have an actual legal construct called "martial law," but instead something quite like it: a state of public health emergency.
The state of emergency allowed the governor can suspend laws, order evacuations, and limit the sales of items such as alcohol and firearms. The governor's order limited the state of emergency, to end on 9/25/2005, "unless terminated sooner."

I am curious though. If it was, are you saying that that would excuse the looting? Would you be one of those loading up with loot if you were there?
Absolutely not. I am totally from shooting the looters. My only concern is that only government personnel (ie cops, national guard) be allowed to do the shooting. This could be an excuse to off your enemies and claim they were looters.

Quite frankly I really did not care if they were black, white, green, male of or female, if they were on duty police and involved in looting something had gone wrong and probably long before the city ever experienced a storm.
For years the entire state of LA and especially NO has had a reputation for crime and corruption. Looks like it is now showing it's ugly head.

You've been on this forum for 5 years and you've learned nothing. What a waste.
I learned alot, but not from vigilantes like you. Shooting looters by authorized personnel is one thing. Armed citizens roaming the streets is another. This is not Iraq.

You seriously need to work on your posting skills. Put the portion of the post you are responding to in quotes before your answer. It's no wonder you have been trying unsuccessfully to get your point across for two days. Your posts are incomprehensible.
