Note to self: Avoid government run shelters in large cities.

A friend of mine in OKC who's been in seriously dire straits (before I met her) and had to go to a city run shelter. She told me that it was a horrible place, and that there were rapes, drugs, and violence there, she swore after just one night there that it was safe to sleep on the streets.
