In a cruel sort of way, this is the ultimate dry run to deal with a major terrorist attack. Take a real close, good look at this Al Sheehan. Maybe you would rather have the Marines come in to help while you were fending off the terrorists with your rolling pin!
I suppose it is possible those shots weren't directed at the aircraft. They may have simply been trying to get the attention of rescuers.
