The other critical part of the energy equation is what is the situation with the refineries.
You could have 100 percent of the oil fields operational and still have problems getting the crude to the consumer if you don't have refineries functioning. This is the real bottle neck in the whole setup.
The President needs to move boldly and issue an Executive Directive to rescind environmental objections and convert several former coastline military sites and build federally protected refineries, to meet critical national needs. This wouldn't happen overnight, I know, but the needs of the nation, and the economic revitalization of communities hurt by BRACC would would be greatly served.

Ditto. The Feds should immediately authorize drilling in ANWR, offshore anywhere in CA and FL, and the construction of the Cape Wind Project (to spite those Limousine Liberals in Nantucket).
