Also, go to your browser and in tools>advanced (in IE) - scroll to "show pictures" and uncheck it.
Do not know about Firefox, since I have no problem in that area.
The "have pity on dial uppers" is tiresome.
Also, if going that route, it's helpful to also check 'show picture placeholders' in that same section.
Doing so, the little 'red x' box will show up where the pic would be, allowing the user to right click/show picture on those they'd like to see.
