I disagree. Bush is gonna be credited or blamed for the results, not what happens in between. Restore order, and literally shoot to kill. The gangs are deliberately trying to ruin daylight evacations. More stranded people will die of dehydration if they are not evacuated promptly.

why is everything up to the federal government? why are all the local police, the state police and the national guard under control of the governor - simply given a pass as to standing up to their responsibilities? its obvious now what is going on, the police and the state controlled guard could be shooting these people by the truckload right now, and they aren't. Why? we know why, politics.

And then what sort of information would we get? News from the government that things are going well at the Superdome etc.? Things are not going well, and the media is bringing awareness to situations that are happening as well as acting as a conduit for information for relatives of the victims.
