I know it. Much more dangerous on the streets. Horrific experience for everyone but imagine being a tourist in that city right now.

I keep thinking about a group of young women in town for a bachelorette party, interviewed last Saturday night I think. Couldn't get a flight out, couldn't get a rental car, nervously laughed and said they'd try to ride it out because they felt they had no choice. I sure hope they got out by now.

I don't know if it is the same party or not, but it sounds much like one my husband just told me last night. The future daughter-in-law of the owner of my hubby's company was back in her hometown of New Orleans for a bachelorette party. They were in the same situation: They had been bumped off of at least 2 flights. Her future father-in-law suggested they should reserve at least 2 cars to rent so that hopefully by the time they got there, they were both gone. They did get out though. It cost them some money. The plane before them had a mechanical problem and sat on the runway for a while, delaying them. I don't think that plane got out. They were on the last flight out before they closed the airport.
