I can't understand why it's going to take 5 days or more to rescue them!
Just pulling figures out of a faint foggy recent memory . . . but maybe the delays have to do with
water impassability
and
10-20,000 relief workers dealing with 100,000--??--300,000? stranded, disabled, infirm etc. plus all the guns and gangs???
Guessing here.
I suspect that when word of this reaches officials, evacuation will become a priority. I hope so.
As for the looters, I think we need to send some Army Rangers in there to prosecute some search and destroy on the thugs.
I can't see a difference between these looters and the terrorists plaguing Baghdad. Some people just need killin'.
