how do you suppose you get out of a city? a city that did not use those buses to evac you in the first place? Is being resourceful a sin?

There is no direction, no realorder. Many of these people don't know if there is order when they are living in it.

Put yourself in these peoles feet. You are in a cesspool. You don't hear from or see authorities. You have no clear direction of what is going on. You might hear rumor that city has to be evacuated and the Astrodome is one place accepting refugees. How do you know the bus was hijacked? Maybe the "20" year old was a school bus driver. Maybe he knew that they were not being put to any use. How do you know the supposed bad motives that drove this guy to take the bus. They got out of the city. If NO needs that bus so bad, they can come and get it and explain to the rest of America why they weren't used 2 days before the hurricane hit.

Good point. And while there may be 26,000 in the Superdome(that number sure does seem to vary from network to network), how many thousands more did we see on the interstate and other staging areas where they were dropped of after being rescued? What do you do with these people? What about the thousands more in the street wandering with no transportation and no idea where to go?
And do you penalize the children and needy on the supposed renegade bus? I am sure all they head if it was taken, was, "Hey need a ride to the Astrodome, where they will feed, bed and shower you?"

"how do you suppose you get out of a city?"

You go to the superdome and say "get me out of this city"

Done.

And there goes that argument you keep throwing around.
