I wondered about that? Would all that water on top of the ground make it sink further?
Do you know what it's like to try and walk around in silt? As this water sits there just getting around will get harder and harder each day.
The whole delta is silt. This hurricane very well may have done enough for the GOM to reclaim New Orleans. If not, it has certainly created channels for the next to finish it off.
Is N.O. sinking, thus explaining some of the, "where's the water coming from"
