"This is wrong. I hope other shelters / families in the state can take these people."
Houston has several shelters set up. They're using the Astrodome only for those evacuees from the Superdome, but Houston's mayor said today that they have other accommodations for people who don't come on the buses.

It would be nice if they would let the people who need these services know that. And the FEMA workers at the Astrodome should have been aware of this as well. I see now on CNN they are interviewing Gov Perry of Texas regarding this and he is mentioning other shelters. It does seem that communication is lacking in this whole effort.
Are any shelters offered pet friendly? This has been a new option during Hurricanes here in Florida, and does lead to more people being willing to leave their homes.
One last question. Are they still allowing people to return to their homes on Monday to get valuables and such? Will they be able to return order to the city in time for this to occur?(Let alone drain the water by then?)
