Speaking of leadership, I was watching TWC and Jim Cantore and his partner commented at how the Mayor of Gulfport "rocked" and they were excited at how he seemed to be leading the people left in the community. Stark difference from NO. It finally occurred to me why the NO mayor looked so inept. I've been mentally comparing him with Gulianni on 9/11. That's the kind of leadership NO needs right now.

When you play the political games that New Orleans is known for, leadership is usually leadership to keep the pockets of the elites filled and the proles who vote them in under control.
And when you need a real leader, someone acceptable to the elites might not be able to fill the bill.
