Unreal.
Yeah... Drop so the cameras can see it, and to hell with everyone else who is starving in hundreds of square miles...
The people SOUTH and East of New Orleans are begging for help, as well...
Anyone listening to Hannity right now?
Shep Smith being interviewed and his picture is 180 degrees opposite what the Louisiana Lady Gov painted.
We're all doing fine thank you. Some Red Cross people from Nebraska came around delivering 'meals ready to eat' and we told them to save them for the more needy but, it sure felt good to see them out here.
There are people in Bayou LaBatre, Alabama (Of Forrest Gump fame), just down the way here that were heavily affected, 3,000 houses lost there, I'm told.

Looting on WDSU.
Wow! Now it's a BIG RIOT in Baton Rouge. We had scattered reports earlier.
I hope some of the military are stopping off in BR to contain this behaviour.
You are going to tell someone who is arming themselves it is all untrue?

Good finds!
Hiya CD...what's shakin'?
From a friend in NOLA...
This is a very overwhelming situation and it's difficult to put things into perspective at this time. There are thousands of desperate people that haven't had food, water or sleep in almost a week. They can't think straight. Shots were fired at a military chopper this morning. Although it may sometimes interfere with the rescue efforts, some safety measures still have to be taken. While the TFR was enforced and delayed other relief efforts, rescues by the coast guard and other groups were still ongoing.
Politics aside, we have to thank our President as he is responsible for getting food and water to a vast number of evacuees; a basic task that our local government failed to accomplish. After his flyover, help quickly came in force. Things started to move forward. In a crisis like this one, nothing ever happens fast enough but we have noticed significant improvements since the President took control of the rescue efforts and we should be grateful for that.
Three states have been seriously handicaped... A major city is no more and its people need to be rescued...
To all rushing out to help, it may be frustrating at times. Everyone is overwhelmed and there is not enough chiefs on site to coordinate the efforts and direct all the indians efficiently. Please be patient and don't give up. Thousands of people need your help.
Law enforcement officers wave to buses to be used for the evacuation along Interstate 10 across from the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Thousands of National Guard troops moved into New Orleans to restore order to the hurricane-battered city where terrified survivors dodged looters, roaming gangs and gunmen.
I may get flamed for saying this out loud, but it is true. Same thing exists here in ATL.

Thanks.
It's not just you. If politicizing isn't bad enough, they are hysterical and translating that to everyone as well.
It's hard to concentrate on all the work I need to be doing at a time like this.
Anyone wanna start thread XIII?
