I actually didn't mean the technology itself but what was done with it. American cinema, now over a century old, is one of this country's greatest cultural achievements and an object of admiration and envy the world over. There was a lot of junk made back then too. It's been forgotten as surely as today's junk will be.
And Farnsworth is probably spinning because David Sarnoff stole his ideas! So they say.
