There is history. Last year they did evacuate the city and not much happened. If they ordered evacuation early this time a lot of residents were prepared to claim excessive crying of 'wolf'. Either way, the top officials take a hit.

Personally .. I'd rather take a hit then take the chance of thousands of dying and losing an entire city

It was all over the MSM the hurricane of a 5 was on its way for several days.

I live in Nevada & I heard about it w/out actually paying much attention. Guess the residents know it wasn't "crying wolf" now...

Bingo. And there are plenty here who are piling on. I wonder what they'd be saying if LA's governor was Jeb Bush?
