Interesting you should say that. Here's an eye openner. One training project I was managing in the military had a sea lift component. So I go down to Jacksonville Fl to inspect the facilities and there in the middle of the military side of the docks is a huge Russian freighter being loaded up with Marine equipment. Yup, the Russians and Norwegians are the ones shipping us around these days.

According the the local news here in Norfolk, four Navy ships, the helicopter carrier USS Iwo Jima, amphibious transport dock ship USS Shreveport, dock landing ship USS Tortuga, and the salvage ship USS Grapple left this morning to join the USS Bataan (another helo carrier) in the Gulf of Mexico and provide relief efforts. The Bataan was on exercises in the gulf already.
