Able Danger mystery continues to deepen [Why isn't the left interested?]
The Daily Times ^ | 08/31/2005 | By Gil Spencer

Curt Weldon continues to flog the 9/11 Commission over its failure to investigate information from the Able Danger military intelligence unit that allegedly identified Mohamed Atta more than a year before the 9/11 attacks.

A third member of the Able Danger team has now come forward to add his name to the growing list of those that say they recall Atta’s name being on a chart of Brooklyn cell terrorists. J.D. Smith, a civilian defense contractor told reporters last week that he is "absolutely positive that he (Atta) was on our chart among other pictures and ties that we were doing mainly based upon (terror) cells in New York City."

“On the same subject, a week and a half ago, after I wrote a column about Weldon and his Able Danger allegations, I got a call from a guy who identified himself as the producer of "The Al Franken Show.” The producer, who obviously thought I shared the same political view of the world as Air America, the left-wing radio network that airs Franken’s show, wondered how a wild man like Curt Weldon could keep getting elected from this district given his supposedly crazy views and behavior. I didn’t call him back.”

I would have. I would'a taken the pee-wit to dinner in order to get his REAL sentiments on Able Danger... and what he thought it might have uncovered.

[Why isn't the left interested?]

Because they haven't figured out how to blame Bush for it yet.

LOL.

The years 1992 to 2000 would be seen in their pathetic light.

And where is the "mystery chart"???
Did Sandy Burglar shred and burn it ???
Again, I still contend the political class in Washington is going to try and bury the whole issue -- let's watch and see what happens!

Yes, and that part any right-thinking American can easily figure out, given what we already know and how the 9/11 Commission hoax was set up. Clinton has more egg on his face than can ever be wiped off.

I am still waiting for the BIG DEMAND for an investigation, very loud, very public, and finally expose these corrupt frauds for what they really are...

Here's why the left isn't interested in Able Danger.

And this...

It'd be nearly impossible for them to spin this against bush, so they don't have any use for it.

I await that conference with baited breath. Weldon has masterfully dripped out more and more to keep interest and create intrigue. Bloggers and Freepers have built upon each fact/name. What I hope is that Weldon has staffers briefing 9-11 families along the way and that they join him in a demand for a full, transparent investigation--chips to fall where they may....

create intrigue

Too much dripping has created fatigue as well. If they have the info, they need to make charges, not just tease. How about a House or Senate resolution declaring the 9/11 commission incomplete due to this information? That might get a majority and the Left would at least have to do more than ignore it.

Other than the interest of Freepers and other political junkies, this is going no where. The partisans in DOD were very careful to destroy the evidence, that's the way the Clinton Administration worked. There's always a web of information that can't be "legally" substantiated because the lawyers knew just what to get rid of. They knew how to construct major highways that end in cul de sacs.

Curt Weldon will be vilified as a nut, Shaffer et al as disgruntled. 9/11 Commission will be applauded for standing tall in the onslaught. Berger will be just another Mr. Magoo. 9/11 will still be the fault of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rove.

Don't mean to sound so cynical but watching Sheehan take Media attention away from this says it all. MSM and the Rat machine have it all taken care of.

Fatigue for some of us FR addicts, perhaps. Not for the majority of America that does not know about it yet. Strategery...

I think it goes deeper than blaming Bush .. it's really about protecting HILLARY. Gorelick was on the commission to clean that mess up and get rid of it - and hide it - and I strongly suspect Sandy Burglar's mission was to be sure that memo with Atta's name on it was destroyed. And .. we do know Sandy has admitted he DESTROYED several documents.

This is ROT to the core of our government .. and the DEMOCRATS WHO PERPETRATED IT are still in positions of power in our govt. America better wake up and get this people out of those positions. It starts with keeping democrats from being elected - because they are the ones who appoint these criminals.

Please .. I'm not saying repubs are as pure as the driven snow .. I don't believe that. But .. stats prove MORE DEMS END UP IN CORRUPTION SCANDALS than repubs.

This Al Franken producer sounds like a typical leftist. Anything that doesn't fit his prejudices is "wild" and "crazy", and shouldn't be a part of public discourse. Weldon should not be in office.

I know enough of what the Left thinks that I do not care what the Left thinks.
