I was insensed this morning to receive a press release forwarded to me by a friend who had received it from FEMA. FEMA was asking for cash donations. When I donate cash I want to be assured what I donate will go to those who are suffering, NOT to pay the wages of someone who is helping. I would prefer to give my money to a group who is primarily a vounteer organization who doesn't have a stable of six figure employees.
oh, I agree. I'd rather not give to the Red Cross because of a few negative things I've heard, but it was who is supposed to be coordinating the effort at the Astro Dome. I actually hope to take my kids there myself and deliver items, as opposed to sending them money.
