I have to disagree with you.

Having survived Hurricane Andrew and finding myself and my family without electricity, running water, or basic necessities for over a month, not once did my wife, my family or I resort to stealing.

All that food, water, clothing, games, Plasma TV's, etc. belongs to someone else. Not you. The American public is kind and generous and more often than not, you will see an outpouring of support, supplies, and kindness throughout ravished areas.

I remember being in lines at the local Wal*Mart or grocery store for hours while they were giving stuff away. You could take as much water, ice, and supplies as you could carry. Why steal it, when these companies, shop owners, etc. will show kindness and generosity.

What if you're marooned and your location is separated from any generosity?
