While these handwringers pray, others will be working. I would imagine the more intelligent will actually be able to pray as they work to help these unfortunates.

Looking at the levee system, it's more probable that even if they fix the breaks, it will just open up in another location...and another after that until the water recedes outside the levees. There should have been real bulkheads put in place long ago, maybe made of double hull steel like on barges.

I couldn't believe the mayor projected getting NO back in operation in eight or twelve weeks. That man needs to be replaced now...who has authority to do that?
