We've still seen so little of this... what we have seen is incredibly horrific. I mentioned what happened in Galveston last night on one of the hurricane threads and was quickly told I was wrong.. This looks like Galveston on a larger scale in my opinion. The before and after high resolution shots of the area show extreme physical changes to the landscape. This wall of water meant business, and no one who came in contact with it in a regular frame structure had much chance of living.

I have a book on the Galveston flood, and we were discussing it tonight in the context of today's flooding and hurricane damange. There are definitely parallels.

nwctwx, do you know where I can view these? I just learned about Earth Google or Google Earth today but really haven't maneuvered around it. Is this where you see hi-res shots?
