They probably don't know. I have heard several times a reporter say, "Nothing has been heard at all from so and so".

Someone earlier on FR mentioned a whole town had disappeared, no one heard from them. And someone looked it up and saw it was a town of over 20,000. So this may well be.

An entire part of Placquemine County (please pardon, I know I misspelled it) is now gone-----just swept away by the Mississippi River!
