I think you are looking for reasons to be angry. If it wasn't this, it would be something else.
You think we should care that Hugh Hewitt says there are some kooks on FR? He's not telling us anything we don't already know. Hugh is smart enough (so should you be) not to lump "some" into "all", since he's been a Freeper for years.
What do you think should be done, cyn? Shall we ban all kooks, so that the rest of us can chat about acceptable subjects? Shall we tell people to stop putting up threads based on hearsay, because Hugh and you find them kooky?

He is a journalist himself and has proven to be reliable.
There may be over 1000 dead. There may be as few as 300.
But, it sounds like they are doing body count in an orderly enough fashion that they will not be double-counting to a big degree.
Now, in NO, they have been told not to worry about the bodies at this point. They are only to be evacuating people.
We will not have any sort of reliable estimates for dead in NO for at least a week probably.
