That's "hundreds" in Biloxi. You need to factor in Gulfport, Port St. Louis and the rest of Mississippi, not to mention Louisiana (and affected parts of Alabama and other states). I'd say this report is entirely consistent with an estimate of thousands of deaths.

I agree. There is, apparently, hardly anything standing from Slidell through Biloxi. Only one third evacuated. The storm surge went two to three miles inland. I'm from the area and I believe the report. The death toll is going to be staggering, I'm afraid.
