He has seen the bodies coming in,he has seen them in trees,in cars, in homes,under rubble...washing in the water. OBVIOUSLY he is not the ONLY person working down there.

Then why is this the only report anywhere? After a half-day, confirming reports should be surfacing. And yet, only this one lone report has come in anywhere.

Sorry you aren't getting your confirming reports. For most of us, statements from officials saying they aren't even gathering bodies (NO) or expect high counts (MS) or will be counting for weeks (both) are confirmation that the situation is what it appears to be from the level of destruction. If even 10% of structures in the affected areas were occupied, the kind of numbers referenced in this post are in no way out of the question.
