One place had full cargo containers 2 miles from shore. :(

Gulfport. The pre-storm close-up of that former city shows where they came inland from. The now defunct Chiquita Banana facility where one fourth of their produce imports entered the U.S. They were stacked together like the planes on Ford Island at Pearl Harbor, and now they are scattered like blown newspaper, not just one mile, but six miles inland. Human remains are under under some of them, like the Railroad in Sri Lanka.

Not to make light of it, but this illustrates the interdependence of pretty much everything. Particularly that other item in the news, gasoline and other fuels.

Yes, I can expect a higher price for bananas for the foreseeable future.
