Humblegunner and I had just finished a cold drink at his truck when this guy, who Identified himself as a National Review photog, asked if he could snap my picture. I said of course and told him that I've been a reader for years. The rest is history. I think that NRO used my pic because they were looking for as big a contrast with the hippie culture at Camp Cindistan as possible. Hank Hill of "King of the Hill" wasn't available, so they used me instead, heh heh.
Remember anymouse, I did tell you that I'd be all over the web with my shirt! It was one of my more creative moments, I think. I told my co-workers that Saturday I had my picture taken more times than Elvis.
It was great meeting everyone in person for the first time, sorry I won't be able to make the next Texas FReep. While doing my next tour of duty in Ohio I'll be closer to D.C. for those FReeps. After Christmas I look forward to jumping back in the fray down here. God Bless Texas.
Cool!
