Waaaaaaaaait a minute! If Blanco and Nagin are powerless to do anything, then why is the value I should place on my friends' and neighbors' lives connected to their (Blanco and Nagin's) incumbency?
How about kids under voting age? Do they deserve whatever they get too?

Sorry friend, you just don't get it, do you? The Governor and the Mayor are useless individuals. The good people of Louisiana chose them as leaders, but they just proved they can't lead a thirsty horse to water. So what happens, as so often happens in a leadership void, someone or some group steps forward and measures up. In this case, it's the Prez, Jindal, and the business community. Get it! In spite of their poor judgement, the folks in Louisiana and New Orleans will come back stronger than ever. Now, instead of ranting dig, dig, dig, maybe you will finally get it.
