True. But in the short term it relieves the shipment logistics for existing supplies. Gas can come from anywhere to fill demand, not just from specific refineries.

Knock down speculation, which it has. Gas futures were trading as high as $2.89/gallon just before the announcement. They've now stabilized in the $2.60/gallon range.

It needs to be suspended a few MONTHS at the minimum.

I'll take a permanent elimination.
