Did I hear correctly that they only rescued 3000 people yesterday?I don't know that I'd use the term "only" there, but yes, from what I understand that's about the number that were plucked from rooftops; I also understand that the 3000 number does not include those pulled off in boats.

Dunno if I'd necessarily use "only" with that 3,000 number, especially not knowing the types of rescues involved. Rooftop rescues are very time-intensive, whether they're done by helicopter or boat.
