Cwiz,
NASA is reporting no injuries at Stennis. They also report that some buildings sustained undetermined amounts of water and roof damage. Focusing on equipment, main engine test stands are undamaged. I would take all that to be a pretty good sign for those who took refuge at Stennis.
Also NASA-related, CNN reports that the Michoud facility on the east side of New Orleans (where external tanks are built) suffered some water and wind damage, but the water there has receded and the site is now dry. Michoud is on the other side of the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal from downtown New Orleans.
Thank you so much!!
Even still, with everyone who works there not being allowed in, if NASA needs more external tanks, they're going to need to wait months. Death blow for shuttle program?
