According to the Shreveport paper, St. Bernard Parish is almost entirely covered by water, and the water level is above roof tops. A fly-over by the Secretary of Agriculture ( I think it was the state Secretary of Agriculture) resulted in his conclusion that the parish " could take years" to rebuild. The population of the parish in 1990 was 66,631. You may confirm this on Google News by entering the search term " St Bernard Parish".The land area of the parish is 514 square miles.

Yeah, I saw the map earlier on the thread. It's no wonder, it's all coastal areas.
