The gov and the mayor are wishing they had a plan. The prez has FEMA, the U.S. Navy, the Coast Guard, the Marines, and the Corp of Engineers actually enacting one. Actions are louder than words, and that has been one of Bush's greatest consistencies.

Right. Are you going to tell us what the plan is?

I agree. And I wonder if President Bush is waiting to hold his press conference in order to state to the nation what "is" being done, i.e., sending in the Navy, etc. He can't go on national tv like the mayor and governor has and just talk the talk, schedule a day of prayer, we need to evacuate but no where to evacuate...he is the President and no matter if you are rep or dem, you know that when this President tells you the "plan" it is already in progress and most likely has been for several days...just my take on why we haven't heard from him yet.

Well according to the NYTimes the Navy is sending ships and now I read FEMA is definitely considering using Cruise Ships:

FEMA is considering putting people on cruise ships, in tent cities, mobile home parks, or so-called floating dormitories, boats FEMA normally uses to house its own employees, said Coordinating Director Bill Lokey.

Lokey said he anticipated FEMA will set up a permanent office in the area.

Recovery will take so long, he said, that some workers could spend their entire career working on Katrina.

"This is the most significant natural disaster to hit the United States," Lokey said.
